Venezuela Airports To Start Accepting Bitcoin And Crypto Payment

Simon bolivar international airport which is a major airport in Venezuela is in process of accepting bitcoin as a medium of payment  for ticket and relevant services.

Reports suggests that this payment standard will be in guide with the local airspace rules and standard. According to reports from el Siglo an airport called Maiquenta in the capital on Venezuela will commence cryptocurrency acceptance soon.

The director of the subject airline Maiquenta Freddy Borges stated specifically that there are plans in place to accept cryptocurrency payment systems such as bitcoin, dash amongst others. He also explained that the venezuelan national superintendence of crypto assets and related activities along with the airport administration will introduce the payment system.

According to the executive, the crypto payment option would benefit foreign tourists, including those from Russia. “We must advance in these new economic and technological systems to be accessible,”

Recall In March, Latvian airline airBaltic began the acceptance of Ether (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE) as payments for tickets  in 2014. Airports and airlines around the world are intuitively researching various ways of  introducing crypto payments and blockchain-based functionalities .
