President Bola Tinubu has lauded the efforts of the Super Eagles in the just-concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cotê d’Ivoire.
In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Monday, President Tinubu praised the team for demonstrating remarkable resilience and showcasing the talent of the Nigerian people.
He urged Nigerians not to be disheartened by the fact that the team did not emerge as champions but to view it as motivation to strive even harder together.
The statement read, “President Bola Tinubu salutes the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their tenacious performance in the final of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cotê d’Ivoire.
“President Tinubu commends the team, the coach, the crew, and the entire management team for their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice to reach this stage in the tournament, acknowledging the obstacles they consistently overcame with steadily improving performance as they progressed to the finals.
“The President urges Nigerians to remain optimistic, emphasizing that we achieved a significant victory in the hearts of Africa and the world through our resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit on the field of play.
“Let this passing event not dishearten us, but rather unite us to strive harder. We are a great nation united by the green-white-green banner of resilience, joy, hope, duty, and unwavering love.
