Windows 11 ISOs Officially Released By Microsoft

Microsoft has officially released the very first Windows 11 ISO images, therefore allowing users to try out the new operating system in a virtual machine or start from scratch if there’s something not working properly on their computers.

Furthermore, Microsoft explains these ISOs make it possible for users to try out the new OOBE bundled with Windows 11, which means you can therefore try out everything that’s been changed in the operating system from the moment you complete the installation.

The new Windows 11 ISOs, however, are still aimed at insiders, so you should only use them for testing and testing only.

They will probably be refreshed at a later time when Microsoft rolls out new Windows 11 builds the company considers to be stable enough to be worth a new ISO image, but for now, no such information has been offered.

“As you use these ISOs to install Windows 11, you will go through the new Windows 11 setup experience (often referred to as the “out of box experience” or OOBE for short) which is designed to build excitement for Windows 11 right from the moment you turn on a new Windows 11 PC for the very first time,” the company explains.

“Based on your feedback, we have added the ability to name your PC during the setup experience too. After running through the setup experience, the Get Started app is a new first run experience app that will help you quickly get setup on a new PC. Try these things out and let us know what you think!”

Windows 11 is projected to be finalized in the fall and then shipped to the first production devices in October, according to several hints dropped by the company itself, with the free upgrade offer to continue into 2022.
