The Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi has met with the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leader Bola Tinubu concerning the 2023 presidential election.

Fayemi, the current chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, further discussed the Ekiti state primary governorship election with the APC leader.

Reports suggests the meeting between the ekiti state governor and Bola Tinubu was over the latters presidential aspirations and the necessity to secure South-West presidential ticket.

The former governor of lagos state explained the Southwest APC may back a single candidate for the presidential primary in order to present a united front.

His words “A lot is at stake in this APC governorship primary in Ekiti State. The Peoples Democratic Party is also very strong and the opposition will capitalise on any division in the APC.

“Discussions on 2023 also took place with a view to presenting one South-West consensus. If the South-West is divided, the region could be denied the APC Presidential ticket. So, such consultations will continue,” he said

Sources reveals the relationship between Tinubu and fayemi has become gelid as Feyemi played a pivotal role in  Adams Oshiomhole sack as well as his hobnobbing with the APC Caretaker Committee led by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
