Federal Government Allots N6.69 Billion in September Savings Bonds

The Federal Government, through the Debt Management Office, has allotted a total of N6.69 billion to domestic investors under the September 2026 FGN Savings Bond.

The DMO announced the results yesterday. The sum was raised across two instruments: a two-year savings bond carrying an annual interest rate of 14.12 per cent and a three-year savings bond offering 15.12 per cent.

N1.282 billion was allotted on the two-year bond, which attracted 1,690 bids. The three-year bond received N5.407 billion after 3,209 bids. Combined, the two instruments drew 4,899 bids.

The bonds were offered between 7 and 11 September 2026. The two-year paper matures on 16 September 2028, while the three-year instrument matures on 16 September 2029. Settlement for successful allotments took place on 16 September 2026.

Interest will be paid quarterly on 16 December, 16 March, 16 June and 16 September each year until the bonds reach full maturity.
