The Nigerian government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, announced a N1.85 billion initiative to support the education and rehabilitation of the rescued Chibok girls through 2027. This program aims to provide comprehensive care for 108 girls currently under government support, with 68 enrolled at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola.

Program Details

The Federal Ministry of Education outlined that the Chibok Girls Intervention Programme covers a range of services, including tuition, accommodation, vocational training, psychosocial support, medical care, and child and parental assistance. The government will continue to fund the girls’ education at AUN, ensuring their tuition, housing, and related expenses are fully covered.
