Google has been making some big moves in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) recently. They have just announced a new-look Generative AI-powered Google Search, which is set to compete with ChatGPT, and a suite of new products that utilize this cutting-edge technology. It is clear that Google is going to war with Microsoft and OpenAI, with the aim of revolutionizing the way we search for and consume information online.

The live developer demo of Google Search was a game changer. The entire top section under the search bar was filled with generative AI-style results, which replace the traditional top results and provide a chat-like experience where users can ask follow-up questions. This is a significant departure from the traditional search results page, and it represents a major shift in how Google is approaching search. By incorporating generative AI technology, Google is moving closer towards providing personalized and intuitive search results that cater to individual users’ needs.

Google also announced a new product, Duet AI, which utilizes the same generative AI tech that powers Google Search. This technology will be available in Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Meet, and Slides. With Duet AI, Google is taking on Microsoft and its suite of products by integrating generative AI into its workplace tools. This move is a direct challenge to Microsoft’s recent integration of Bing into Office programs. However, with Google’s powerful AI technology, it is likely that they will be able to take things to the next level.

Google Workspace is another area where generative AI is being integrated. The company has announced that Workspace will have AI and a ‘sidekick’, which will be an exact copy of the move that Microsoft made with its integration of Bing. This move by Google is significant because it demonstrates their commitment to making generative AI technology an integral part of their core business model. By providing users with AI-powered tools, Google is hoping to provide a more seamless and intuitive experience across all of their products and services.

Generative AI will also be available through ‘extensions’ like Adobe Firefly. This move is yet another challenge to Microsoft’s partnership with OpenAI, which provides plug-ins for Office programs. Google is clearly positioning itself as a leader in the world of AI, and it is likely that this move will give them a significant advantage over their competitors.

Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, is going head-to-head with Satya Nadella of Microsoft in what is shaping up to be the largest disruption to Google’s core business model that we’ve ever seen. This battle between the two tech giants is significant because it demonstrates how AI is becoming an increasingly important part of the technology landscape. With the rise of generative AI, it is clear that 2023 is the year of AI, and things are moving fast.

In conclusion, Google’s recent moves into the world of generative AI are significant. They are taking on Microsoft and OpenAI in what is shaping up to be a major battle for supremacy in the world of AI. By incorporating AI technology into their search engine, workplace tools, and other products, Google is hoping to provide a more personalized and intuitive experience for users. It is clear that AI is becoming an increasingly important part of the technology landscape, and it is likely that we will see more developments in this area in the coming years. As AI continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how companies like Google and Microsoft continue to adapt and innovate in this exciting field.
