Nigeria’s Statistician General Is Dead!

The National Bureau of Statistics has announced the death of the Statistician-General of the Federation, Simon Harry.

It was disclosed that Mr. Harry had been in a coma since Friday after he fell in his office.

Although he was rushed to the hospital immediately to receive necessary treatments, this morning, his death was announced.

Mr. Harry was appointed in 2021 during President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as the Statistician General to head the NBS.

Mr. Harry had joined NBS in 1992 as Statistician 11 and rose to the position of Director of Statistics in 2019.
