The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced an exciting job opportunity for qualified professionals, seeking to fill the position of Director-General at the West African Monetary Agency (WAMA). The role is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and is open to candidates from the 15 member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

WAMA, a specialized and autonomous agency under ECOWAS, plays a critical role in the region’s monetary and economic integration. The Director-General will oversee the Agency’s operations, ensuring the effective implementation of activities as outlined by the Committee of Governors of ECOWAS Central Banks.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate for this prestigious position should possess:

– **Education:** A minimum of a five-year post-secondary degree in economics or finance from a reputable institution.
– **Experience:** At least 20 years of relevant professional experience, including 10 years in senior management roles within multilateral institutions, public organizations, central banks, or related entities.
– **Special Skills:** Fluency in English or French, strong knowledge of macroeconomic and monetary issues, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage a multicultural team effectively.
