Coinbase Acquires AI Startup Agara

Coinbase officially announced, on Tuesday, The acquisition of an artificial intelligence support platform knows as Agara. The AI platform operates in the U.S. and in India.

The largest cryptocurrency exchange in the U.S., is looking to improve its customer support through the purchase of the startup firm.

Coin base seeks to automate its customer service experience through machine learning processes and natural language tools to enable adequate and prompt customer service user experience. The acquisition also includes a technological expansion to India.

According to TechCrunch Coinbase will incur an estimated $40 million – $50 million for the acquisition of Agara. Report suggests that the deal will be sealed at the end of the year. Agara specializes in machine learning and natural language processing to improve its users experience. The firm was founded in 2017, With a workforce of 40 people, Agagra has managed to cumulate some of the largest firms in the world including sales force and Shopify to name a few.

Coinbase’s head of operations Pankaj Gupta stated that “It’s amazing to see my worlds collide here with Agara, a startup I co-founded in early 2017 but later left to join Google,”. He further disclosed that Agara’s technical team will coupler with Coinbase in the acquisition process.

Furthermore, Agara has been able to integrate its technological set up into communications via phones. His words, “Some of the more complicated things we do are around phone calls. We have been working to automate much of, if not all, of the support that happens through phone calls,”

In the past, coinbase has struggled in customer user experience, With users criticizing its phone line support.
