Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to revolutionize Nigeria’s fuel market with the launch of a nationwide distribution program for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel, starting August 15, 2025. The initiative, announced via the company’s official X account on Sunday, includes free logistics support for registered petrol dealers, marketers, manufacturers, telecom firms, aviation operators, and other large-scale consumers, aiming to enhance affordability and accessibility across the country.

Innovative Distribution Network

To facilitate seamless delivery, Dangote Refinery has deployed 4,000 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers and is establishing CNG daughter booster stations and mini distribution hubs supported by over 100 CNG-powered vehicles. This infrastructure is designed to reduce logistics costs, expand fuel access, and promote cleaner energy solutions nationwide.

Economic Benefits

The program is poised to deliver significant economic advantages, including:

  • Reviving inactive petrol stations by improving fuel availability.
  • Reducing distribution and production costs, easing the financial burden on businesses.
  • Creating jobs across the fuel supply chain, from logistics to retail.
  • Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by lowering energy costs.
  • Enhancing fuel access in rural and underserved areas, fostering economic stability.

By cutting operational costs, the refinery expects the initiative to help curb inflation and support Nigeria’s economic recovery, particularly in vulnerable regions.

Support for Bulk Buyers

Dangote Refinery is offering direct sales to fuel marketers, manufacturers, telecom companies, and other major users, with complimentary delivery for petrol stations sourcing directly from the refinery. Additionally, a credit facility allows bulk buyers purchasing at least 500,000 litres to access an extra 500,000 litres on credit, repayable within two weeks, provided they submit a valid bank guarantee.

Government Collaboration

The refinery credited the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude exchange scheme for stabilizing fuel supply amid global market fluctuations. This partnership has bolstered the refinery’s ability to maintain a consistent supply chain.

Commitment to Sustainability

Dangote Refinery emphasized its dedication to making energy affordable, accessible, and sustainable for all Nigerians, from urban industries to rural communities. The initiative is expected to strengthen investor confidence in the downstream petroleum sector, contributing to broader economic growth.
