MARKET CLOSES ON A POSITIVE NOTE WITH NIGERINS AND LEARNARICA TOPPING THE GAINERS LIST

The NGX closed on a positive note as the All-Share Index appreciated by 12.99 basis point amidst sell-offs and buy-interests.

The NGX ASI closed at 47,246.9 points from 47,233.91 points the previous day, to reflect an increase of 0.03%. A total of 421.82 million units of shares valued at N5.15billion exchanged hands today on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange in 5,992 deals.

Naira Strengthens Further Against US Dollar, Approaches N1,350 Level

Twenty Nine (29) Equities moved towards the positive path today as NIGER INSURANCE PLC (NIGERINS) and LEARN AFRICA PLC (LEARNAFRICA) jointly topped the gainers table with a 10% increase respectively. NIGER INSURANCE PLC (NIGERINS) equity price increased form N0.20k at the open of trading activities today and closed at a market price of N0.22k while LEARN AFRICA PLC (LEARNAFRICA) market price increased to N2.42k from N2.20k market price at the start of trade of today.

SCOA NIG.PLC took the second place on the gainers list as it gained N0.23kwith the market price moving from N2.35k to close at 2.58k (+ 9.79%).

On the losers list, ELLAH LAKES Plc led the list with a decline of 9.88%, as the market price reduced from N4.25k to close at N3.83k. VERITAS KAPITALASSURANCE Plc seconded the losers list as the price dropped from N0.23k to N 0.02k, amounting to a 8% decline.

In all, a total of eighteen (18) equities recorded losses as the breadth of market returned positive.

LEARNAFRICA up to +10.00% to close at N2.42

SCOA up to +9.78% to close at N9.79

CUTIX up to +9.65% to close at N2.84

MAYBAKER up to +9.65% to close at N5.00

ELLAHLAKES down -9.89% to close at N3.83

VERITASKAP down -8.00% to close at N0.23

COURTVILLE down -5.56% to close at N0.51

GUINNESS down by -5.34% to close at N70.05

NEIMETH down by -4.76% to close at N1.80
