MultiChoice Nigeria will overhaul its DStv and GOtv subscription packages from 5 November 2026, with entry-level access starting at ₦6,000 a month.
Chief Executive Kemi Omotosho announced the changes on Tuesday, describing the revamp as the company’s most significant product update in recent years. The goal, she said, is to deliver greater value and make entertainment more accessible to subscribers across the country.
The new structure also aligns with the broader strategy of parent company CANAL+ to simplify its product range and respond more closely to customer needs across Africa.
New DStv Tiers
DStv will move to four packages.
Starter costs ₦6,000 monthly and will carry Africa Magic+ and SuperSport KICKOFF, which will broadcast the Premier League Match of the Week and selected UEFA Champions League games.
Select costs ₦11,000 monthly and covers movies, local and international series, children’s content and a selection of sports.
Sports costs ₦21,000 monthly and bundles every Premier League and UEFA Champions League fixture with WWE, UFC and all general entertainment channels available on Select.
Premium sits at the top of the range and adds Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis, golf majors and international series on M-Net.
MultiChoice is also refreshing its movie offering through M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends, with a promise of more new releases and fewer repeated titles.
New GOtv Line-up
GOtv will similarly move to four packages: Easy, Starter, Select and Sports, giving lower-cost pay-TV customers a clearer set of choices.
Streaming and Hardware Options
Households that do not want a decoder can use **DStv Stream**, a standalone digital service starting at ₦6,000 a month and available on internet-connected devices.
New customers who prefer traditional television can get a DStv or GOtv decoder, a full installation kit and one month of an entry-level subscription for ₦15,000 under a hardware promotion running alongside the launch.
JimJam to Exit
In a separate change, DStv subscribers will lose access to JimJam, the international preschool children’s channel, on 11 November 2026. The channel, provided by AMC Networks International and available on Channel 310, has been on DStv since November 2013.
What It Means for Subscribers
The new structure creates clearer price points for different viewing habits especially by separating full football coverage into a dedicated Sports tier. That may appeal to fans who previously felt they had to buy a higher package mainly for live sport, while lighter users can stay on cheaper entry-level options.
The changes come as pay-TV operators face pressure from rising household costs and competition from streaming platforms. MultiChoice did not disclose subscriber targets or expected revenue from the new packages. Customers can check the official DStv and GOtv websites for full details and guidance on how to move between tiers.
