NGX Trading Week Opens with 0.66% Decline in All-Share Index and N259 Billion Equity Loss.

NGX Witnesses Bullish Trends with 3.08% Surge in All-Share Index

The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) witnessed a turbulent start to the trading week as the All-Share Index experienced a 0.66% decline, closing at 70,946.83 points after a relatively quiet week of trading. Equities faced a significant setback, losing N259 billion, leading to a market capitalization drop from N39.082 trillion to N38.823 trillion compared to the previous Friday.

Trading volumes saw a slight uptick, reaching 358.527 million units, a marginal increase from the 352.860 million units recorded the previous Friday. However, the overall market value suffered a 30% decline, plummeting to N7.1 billion, down from last week’s N10.16 billion.

SWOOT and FUGAZ Update:
– BUACEMENT (-10.00%) led the losers’ chart among stocks worth over one trillion, with ZENITHBANK (-0.43%) also experiencing a decline.
– GTCO (+0.26%) saw a price gain, while other category members (BUAFOODS, DANGCEM, AIRTELAFRI, SEPLAT, and MTNN) reported no price change.
– For Tier-1 banks, FBNH (+9.93%) appeared on the top gainers chart, while GTCO (+0.26%) and ACCESSCORP (+0.83%) also experienced price gains. UBA (-0.23%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.43%) faced price declines.
