Fashola  described how the border bridge will facilitate free trade between the neighboring countries and ease trade relationship with african continental free trade agreement .

According to reports the construction of the bridge which began in april 28.2017 cost about $35.9 billion dollars and the funding of this project was provided by both nigera and cameroon, which shows a smootn relationship existing between the countries.
