In a bid to enhance bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Finland, President of the Nigerian-Finnish Association, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, emphasized the importance of collaboration in information technology, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship. This call for synergy was made during the Award of Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland ceremony held in honor of Kingsley Akinroye.

The event marked a significant milestone in the 60-year history of friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Senator Gbenga Daniel highlighted the potential benefits of exchanging knowledge and skills in technology and innovation for both countries’ economies.

In response, the Finnish Government expressed its commitment to strengthening ties with Nigeria and offering innovative solutions to address contemporary challenges. The award bestowed upon Kingsley Kolapo Akinroye, a distinguished Cardiovascular Health Physician, further underscores the enduring bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The recognition of Akinroye with the highest honor in Finland solidifies the longstanding bond and signifies a mutual commitment to continued collaboration and cooperation between Nigeria and Finland.
